The Asia-Pacific regions GDP per Capita rose by over 52%, while South Asia increased its GDP per capita by 75% over the last decade

The table below illustrates the remarkable progress of the Asia-Pacific region in the past decade in GDP per Capita terms. The region’s GDP per capita increased by 52.4%. Although growth has been dramatic, the region still lags behind the Americas and Europe, where the level of GDP per capita is about twice as high.

South Asia stands out as the fastest-growing sub-region (as defined by World Economics) in the world, with a 75% increase in GDP per capita from 2013 to 2023. See more data...
